Red Man

The stage at Old Ironsides has this kick-ass red light that shines quite nicely on the performers. This guy's face seemed to absorb the red light like nobody else that night.

Footwork

So I realized last night that I am fascinated by the subtle movements that go along with people performing in front of a live audience. I have been paying more and more attention to the weird things people do when they are nervous or excited. It's quite entertaining. When people play guitar, they do some really wacky sh*t with their feet. It's fun to watch and photograph.

'The Kids in the Hall' are some of the most influential comedic minds Canada has ever had. Dave Foley, of course, is one of the Kids. Born and bred in Toronto, Dave dropped out of high school and spent his time at Second City, taking improv. That's where he met Kevin McDonald, in 1982. Eventually, Bruce McCulloch, Mark McKinney and Scott Thompsonnjoined in and by the mid '80's, they were 'The Kids in the Hall.' It wasn't long until Lorne Michaels of 'SNL' put them on TV. By 1994, the guys went their separate ways. A year later, Dave started playing 'Dave Nelson' - anstraight-laced news director and closet-Canadian on 'NewsRadio.' He also hit the big screen in movies like "It's Pat", "Brain Candy", "A Bug's Life" and "South Park". Recently, 'The Kids in The Hall' gang reunited for a NorthnAmerican tour and gave their fans a taste of some new material.
